Group Meetings

Group Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at Portslade Community College, Chalky Road, Portslade, Brighton, BN41 2WS. The exact location is shown HERE. The start time is 20:00 local.

As the college site is fairly extensive, a listening watch is kept on 2 metres FM (144.625MHz), before and during the meeting.

Weekly 2 Metre Call-in

Every week on Monday evenings, a 2 metre call-in is held, at 20:45 local time on 144.625MHz. It is run by Colen G8BTK. Members of the Group are encouraged to use this call-in, as it checks out both equipment and radio paths.

G1SSR Yahoogroups Mailing List

A moderated mailing list, G1SSR, using Yahoogroups has been set up mainly for the dissemination of event information to South Sussex Raynet members.

There are two ways of subscribing to G1SSR. The best way is via the web. If not already a member of Yahoogroups, it is necessary to register at www.yahoogroups.com. Once registered, log in using your Yahoo ID and password, and then search the group G1SSR. Click the (only) entry shown and then click the Join this Group button and follow the instructions. Since it is a moderated group, there may be a delay while the moderator approves your subscrition request.

The other way to suscribe is to send an email to Again, there will be a slight delay while the moderator approves the subscription. Subscribing by email does have the advantage that it is perhaps easier, but without registering with Yahoogroups, the other features of a mailing list, eg. the Files area of the mailing list, where important information concerning events, is not accessible.
